Ken Lewis has been working as Red Deer County’s Conservation Coordinator since 2007. In that time, he’s had the opportunity to work with 100’s of ranchers as they put in watering systems to help their grazing management and make environmental improvements. He’s going to share lessons those ranchers have shared with him, and give tips on things to think about, when you plan a watering system of your own. Ken grew up on the family farm near Cremona, where the appreciation of a good grazing water source was learned through hard work, and maybe a little bit of water witching.
Jenna Dell serves as a RALP Program Access Liaison, whose role involves assisting producers with their RALP applications. Additionally, she is the Conservation Technician in Red Deer County, as well as the ALUS Field Assistant in Red Deer and Lacombe County. Jenna holds a degree in Biological Sciences and diplomas in Alternative Energy, and Environmental Stewardship and Rural Planning. Having previously worked designing residential and commercial solar systems for a few years, her career trajectory shifted after moving on to her husband’s mixed grain and cattle farm. This opened a whole new world of interests, and she gained a new appreciation for the complexities of farming. She is excited to collaborate with producers and help them implement solutions that can benefit both their farms and the environment.
